Don’t Care What Others Say – Start Building Your Emergency Preparedness Survival Kit

Each passing day it is becoming more obvious that there is something wrong with the world. All the time somewhere in the world there is war, famine and poverty. Countries are going bankrupt. The climate is changing and extreme weather conditions are becoming normal. And yet nobody does anything about it. If this is the case, than can you afford not to be prepared when the worst happens?

Like many people you have already thought of what might happen if disaster strikes. People might be aware of the dangers and risks, but still the majority does not prepare for them. Why is that? Well, the answer is pretty simple. Most of us are afraid that if somebody finds out that we are preparing for a disaster we would be labeled as weirdos. This is enough to discourage some people. We are “social animals” and most of us really care what other people think. However, you should not act recklessly no matter what the neighbors think. Your life and the lives of your dearest are at stake. If you are sensible enough to know that you should be prepared, than you should not hesitate and you should start building your emergency preparedness kit.

If you think about it, nobody has to know about your survival kit. Actually it is better if nobody knows. Carefully devise an emergency plan. Think of all possible disaster scenarios that might happen where you live. Than make a list of everything you might need in order to create a sustainable food storage. Start buying food products with long shelf life. First on your list should be food items that last the longest like grains, rice, beans, flour and different types of pasta. Than move on to the canned products. Canned tuna, meat and vegetables can last up to ten years. Do not forget salt, sugar, powdered milk, coffee, tea and spices and also different oils. Honey is a must since it is incredibly nutritious and can last forever. You should have in mind that emergency food does not have enough vitamins and minerals, so you should plan on including some nuts and dried fruits in the storage. Get some vitamin supplements too.

Also, think of the best way to store water. Stockpiling bottled water is acceptable, but having a big water tank installed might be a better idea.

However you should not only concentrate on food and water. You will certainly need something to start a fire with. You should not forget a can opener. Knife, rope, sewing kit, duct tape, soap and candles are probably something you would like to have.

However, if you think that all of the above will cost you a fortune, you should not be worried. You actually need some careful planing and time. Good organization will help too. But in the end you will have e decent food storage that will give you an edge over 90% of the population. You will be prepared and you family will be safe. and it is always better to be safe than sorry.
